What types of rubber seals are there? What is the function of the sealing ring?
The rubber sealing ring is an annular cover composed of one or several parts, which is fixed on one ring or washer of the bearing and contacts with another ring or washer or forms a narrow labyrinth gap to prevent the leakage of lubricating oil and the intrusion of foreign objects.
The sealing ring is generally divided into 5 categories according to the type, which are:
O-ring series: There are products of various materials such as fluorine rubber, nitrile rubber, silica gel, ethylene propylene rubber, double fluorine rubber, etc. This type of rubber is mostly used in various machinery and is resistant to corrosion by various petroleum oils and chemical media.
Y-shaped sealing ring: Due to the wear resistance of products of this type of material, different materials can be selected to meet different temperature areas (-60 degrees ~ 200 degrees), so these products are mostly used in hydraulic, mechanical, pneumatic and other industries.
V-shaped sealing ring: This is an axially acting elastic rubber sealing ring, which can be used as a pressureless seal for the rotating shaft. The sealing lip has good mobility and adaptability, which can compensate for large angular deviation and tolerance, which can not only prevent the internal liquid from leaking out, but also prevent the external dust and liquid from entering.
YX type sealing ring for holes: This type of product is mainly used for the sealing of pistons in reciprocating hydraulic cylinders. Different materials can be selected to meet different working temperatures (generally back to -40 degrees ~ +120 degrees).
YX type hole retaining ring: This type of product is suitable for use with YX type sealing ring when the working pressure of the oil cylinder is greater than 16MPa, or when the oil cylinder is eccentrically stressed, it plays the role of protecting the sealing ring.

Fluorine rubber: It has high temperature resistance type, which can withstand the high temperature of 250 degrees and the low temperature of minus 30 degrees. Can be used in aerospace, chemical and other fields
Silicone rubber: has outstanding high and low temperature resistance, ozone resistance, aging resistance, non-toxic, can be used as medical rubber products
Nitrile rubber: It has good oil resistance and aromatic solvent performance.
Neoprene rubber: has good oil resistance, solvent resistance, chemical medium and other properties.
